Serbian Eyes Are Crying…

…after a 6-0 dismantling by the Argentines two days ago. Argentina looks to be among the teams to beat this World Cup, and the game’s second goal, by Esteban Cambiasso after 25 (!) consecutive passes by the South Americans, has to be one of the best of the tournament. Also impressive was 18-year-old substitute Lionel Messi, whose first 15 minutes of World Cup play resulted in a goal and a beautiful assist. Not bad, young man. Maradona was in the stands looking fat and satisfied. As for the Serbs, one of their players called the game one of the worst experiences in the history of Serbian soccer, and a few defiant fans in the replica Olympic Stadium in Berlin – where I watched the game with my brother and a friend – waved the flag and crest of Serbija until the bloody end.
