A Tribute to the German Dream

Per Mertesacker and Sebastian Kehl following loss to Italy.

I know how you feel.

And you too.

“Thank you for the great soccer you’ve shown us. You are sooooooooooooo awesome. We are so unbelievably happy to share this with you. You are the greatest. You are the most beautiful. You are the smartest.”

It hurts me terribly that Germany lost to Italy.
But I felt the German football team did not play very well the first 45 minutes in the match against Italy. The Germans played slow, kind of slugish. More like a warm-up. The Germans looked like they are doing a slow warm-up, after an illness. Not like they are fighting a tough oppponent to advance to the final.

Agreed. They looked that way in extra time, too — but not in the second half, when they looked strong.

i’m appalled by the first entry, while you might argue the germans were at the top of their game during the overtime period, this certainly not valid for regular time…

El Bembe,
Have you heard? Oliver Kahn is playing tomorrow in place of Lehmann. And no Ballack, Mertesacker and Lahm. Should be interesting.

Although it’s very disappointed, Mertesacker and others had given their best performances for Germany….
